I-Smile™ Silver

As a result of the widespread success of the state I-Smile™ program for children, the Iowa Department of Public Health has received funding from the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation and Health Resources and Services Administration for the I-Smile™ Silver pilot project in Lee, Des Moines, and Van Buren Counties.  I-Smile™ Silver is designed to improve access to oral health care for at-risk adults.  I-Smile™ Silver is supported by the Lifelong Smiles Coalition and is an ongoing pilot project.  The I-Smile™ Silver program will help us to understand barriers to accessing dental care, and also to learn about ways to address those barriers.  The project will also work to prevent dental disease by providing oral health training to those that work closely with this age group.  Results of the pilot project will determine the ability to replicate I-Smile™ Silver statewide.
